Located steps away from the Atlantic Ocean, The Sand Castle is one of only two Oceanfront dining venues on all of Fire Island. Operating as a restaurant and bar from as early as the 1950’s, the building was purchased in 2012 by Anthony Chiocchi, Jacquelyn Piazza, and Donna Bianco to realize their vision of an elegant, open-air venue in which people could enjoy delicious food, wonderful cocktails, and live entertainment in a charming, relaxed atmosphere. After a complete gut renovation, the final piece fell into place when the three were introduced to Executive Chef Noelle Grant.
Interested in food at an early age, Grant first fell in love with cooking as a young child making fresh tortillas, tamales and mole in her grandmother’s kitchen in Zacatecas, Mexico. At the age of twenty-three, Grant graduated from the New York Restaurant School and began her career cooking all across the country from LA to New York. Chef Grant not only brings decades of culinary experience to Cherry Grove, but also a passion for sustainable, organic, local ingredients; eclectic, diverse menus; and a dedication to providing creative options to various dietary needs such as veganism and gluten free diets. Grant’s Modern American Cuisine is peppered with flavors from around the world and her daily specials are often influenced by her own take on classic international dishes.
